Kelly Clarkson hosted Olivia Munn on her talk show on Tuesday.

The ladies talked about The Newsroom star’s cancer battle.

And during their sit down in New York City, Munn told Clarkson – who looked thin in leopard print last week – the one thing she learned during her health crisis.

‘I couldn’t climb a mountain carrying all this extra weight,’ the 43-year-old said, meaning she had to let go of past bad feelings to take on fighting cancer.

Munn also said facing life-changing decisions helped her let go of her past baggage and finally live in the moment.

Olivia also said that one woman in the medical staff made a big difference. ‘She literally saved my life. She’s my guardian angel,’ said Munn as she added her team of doctors recommended aggressive treatment.

This comes after Munn said her son was the reason she documented her brutal breast cancer fight.

The actress was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer in April 2023 and shared her diagnosis on social media a year later, revealing in March she had a double mastectomy after an MRI found a fast-moving, aggressive form of the disease in both her breasts.

She told Good Morning America: ‘Cancer is the… that’s the word you don’t want to hear.

‘There’s a lot of other things that you feel like you can beat, but you know cancer takes down a lot of people. And I just thought about my baby.’

Olivia was referring to her two-year-old son Malcolm who she shares with her 41-year-old comedian partner John Mulaney.

She added about why she wanted to ‘document’ her cancer journey: ‘Well, because if I didn’t make it, I wanted my son when he got older to know that I fought to be here. That I tried my best.

‘You want the people in your life… you want the people that maybe don’t understand what’s going on right to know that you did everything you could to be here.’

Olivia also told how part of the treatment for her ‘luminal B’ cancer was to suppress the production of hormones that causes it to grow, leading to her being put in a medically induced menopause that prevented her from spending time with her boy.

Munn also said life-changing decisions helped her let go of her past baggage and finally live in the moment. Seen with Kim Raver and the founder of I Will Survive

She added: ‘The hormone suppression therapy is brutal and it gave me next level debilitating exhaustion.

‘I was just in bed all day long, all day long, and my quality of life was so minimal and I wasn’t able to be there for my baby.

‘Whenever Malcolm would come into the home he’d run straight to my bed because that’s where he knows I am, like that’s what he associated with me.

‘And that was just too difficult for me to take. I had to find out if there was another option.’

Olivia decided to get a hysterectomy and ovariectomy but wanted to do an egg retrieval before the surgeries so that she and John could still have the option to have more children.

She added: ‘John and I had a long talk about it. We realized that we weren’t done growing our family.

‘That’s a scary process because I have a cancer that feeds off of hormones so I knew there was a risk and our doctor said, ‘Look, we’re gonna get one for you and then we’re gonna call it.’

‘And then our doctor called and he said, ‘Hey we got the results back. It’s two healthy embryos, and I… I mean we just started bawling, crying, both of us.’

Olivia underwent four surgeries in 10 months amid her cancer journey, which she said was made ‘terrifying’ by also being a mum.

Kelly looked slender on the show. The 42-year-old singer had on a green outfit and high heels.

Her waistline looked smaller than ever after losing 60lbs last year.

At first the diva from Texas  said that she shed the pounds with power walks and a healthier diet, but last week she finally admitted she did take a weight-loss drug after hitting 203lbs.

Kelly’s weight loss drug admission has dominated headlines.

The Because of You hitmaker was interviewing Whoopi Goldberg, who used the diabetes drug Mounjaro to shed the pounds, when she admitted she was helped by another drug that helps to break down sugar because her ‘body doesn’t do it right.’

She told the Ghost actress, 68, on her talk show: ‘Mine is a different one than people assume, but I ended up having to do that too.

‘Everybody thinks it’s Ozempic, it’s not – it’s something else.

‘My doctor chased me for like two years,’ she said. ‘And I was like, :No, I’m afraid of it. I already have thyroid problems, I was afraid.”

The Breakaway hitmaker admitted at her heaviest, which she claims was 203 pounds, she never saw herself as bigger for quite some time until one day she suddenly didn’t recognize herself.

Kelly said: ‘Seeing yourself, I didn’t see it … all of a sudden, I was like ‘Who the f*** is that?”

She added: ‘It’s a weird thing… I never saw that, I was never insecure about it – I just did not see that.’

The crooner admitted she thought she looked like she was ‘about to die of a heart attack’ before she underwent her transformation, which saw her lose a reported 60 pounds.

Whoopi said she herself ballooned to 300 pounds before she decided to do something about it.

Kelly told her: ‘You look wonderful, and I hope you feel wonderful.’

The latter lost weight after being told she was pre-diabetic.

Kelly was forced to explain her weight loss after it was rumoured she used Ozempic, however, she denied this to be the case, and revealed the health warning from her doctor was behind the shred.

She previously said on her eponymous-titled talk show: ‘I was told I was pre-diabetic. That was literally what happened. I wasn’t shocked. I was a tiny bit overweight, so I wasn’t shocked.

‘But they were like, ‘You’re pre-diabetic. You’re right on the borderline.’

‘I was like, ‘But I’m not there yet.’ And then I waited two years and then did, however, move into the — I was like, ‘OK, I’ll do something about it.”

The ‘Since U Been Gone’ hitmaker – who has River Rose, nine, and Remington, seven, with her ex-spouse Brandon Blackstock – followed Dr. Steven R. Gundry’s famous ‘Plant Paradox Diet’.

She shared to People recently: ‘I eat a healthy mix. I dropped weight because I’ve been listening to my doctor.

‘And 90 per cent of the time, I’m really good at it because a protein diet is good for me anyway.

‘I’m a Texas girl, so I like meat — sorry, vegetarians in the world!’

The TV star – who previously admitted to having suicidal thoughts when she was skinny – relocated to New York following her split from ex-husband Brandon, and she says walking the city is ‘quite the workout’.

On her other wellness activities, she added: ‘And I’m really into infrared saunas right now.

‘And I just got a cold plunge because everybody wore me down.’
