Night Fall/Nocturnal Emissions/Wet Dreams

One of probably the most common questions I actually have been getting quite repeatedly on just about all the net platforms, is about night fall, or wet dreams or what is known as nocturnal emissions.

A nocturnal emission is the ejaculation of semen experienced by a male, or orgasm experienced by a female, during sleep. Nocturnal emissions are more common in teenage years, than in adult life. They commonly occur post puberty, and are sometimes accompanied by erotic dreams, wherein the emission may occur without erection. Women can even have orgasm in the same way.

Generally, a wet dream, or a sexual/erotic dream, during sleep (happens through the Rapid Eye Movement or REM phase of sleep), can result in discharge of semen, or an orgasm.

Also, once you experience a wet dream, you progress around in your bed, and the rubbing of the genitals with the surface, can further stimulate orgasm. That’s why night fall doesn’t occur with masturbation or any manual stimulation during sleep.

To begin with, it’s a completely normal and natural aspect of human body and there’s nothing flawed or sinful about it. It’s not a disease, and it doesn’t need any cure.

A studyinvestigated the actual nature and content of sexual dreams across a big sample of dream reports from men and girls. App. 8% of on a regular basis dream reports from each genders contain some type of sexual-related activity.

The percentage of girls that reported such dreams may be as a result of the proven fact that either women actually experience more sexual dreams now than they did 40 years ago, or that they now feel more comfortable reporting such dreams as a result of changing social roles and attitudes. Sexual intercourse was probably the most common sort of sexual dream content, followed by sexual propositions, kissing, fantasies and masturbation.

A studyassessed masturbation habits and frequency of nocturnal emissions amongst 113 virgin male religious Muslim teenagers. Researchers found that, although masturbation and nocturnal emissions (NE) are frequent amongst virgin male religious Muslim teenagers, a big proportion of young men consider that only masturbation, but not nocturnal emissions, is forbidden by religion.

Alfred Kinsey, one of the vital influential figures of the 20th century in America,  conducted landmark studies of female and male sexual behaviour that helped usher within the ‘sexual revolution” of the Nineteen Sixties and Nineteen Seventies. In his renown text, Sexual behaviour within the human malehe found that off the 104 males he studied, 75 reported that they’d experienced nocturnal emissions, while 29 reported that they’d not experienced nocturnal emissions.

Kinsey found ““

Another thing Kinsey noticed was that in puberty, 13% of males experience their first ejaculation in consequence of a nocturnal emission. Kinsey found that males experiencing their first ejaculation through a nocturnal emission were older than those experiencing their first ejaculation by way of masturbation.

In a really interesting study, titled “”, found that, males who’ve nocturnal emissions may query their occurrence, while males who don’t experience them don’t ask about what hasn’t occurred.

The subjects she tested, made comments that further validated a lack of awareness and education on sexuality and nocturnal emissions:

  • “.”
  • “ “
  • “.”

Those males who experienced nocturnal emissions reacted more negatively, possibly due to concern over the ejaculate which was described by some as “messy” or “embarrassing.” They not only received little to no information, but they felt more “abnormal”, had difficulty accepting their sexual abilities, and lived with nocturnal emissions but disliked it.

These males expressed their feelings about nocturnal emissions this manner:

  • “.”
  • “.”
  • “.”

“”, says the researchers.

A study assessed each quantitative and qualitative facets of sex and wet dreams in 58 male participants, through a questionnaire. More than 80% of participants had dreamed about having vaginal intercourse with a girl. Dreaming of sexual interactions aside from vaginal intercourse—resembling oral sex—was also common.

In a studythe researchers assessed 245 graduate and undergraduate women, and located that, that app. 85% of girls will experience a wet dream by the age of 21. And it’s likely that wet dreams amongst women are much more widespread than that, because this study based their numbers on a small sample of school women through the Eighties —  in a comparatively conservative time.

Now, identical to the misunderstandings related to masturbation, there are myths surrounding the topic of wet dreams & nocturnal emissions or night falls. These emissions are absolutely natural phenomena and there’s simply no cure for anything which isn’t a disease.

Internet is stuffed with bro science and bogus advices on magical cures to treat nocturnal emission, and do away with it. There are articles, supplements, exercises, videos etc. being propagated by the exact same people, who term masturbation as evil.

Night fall or nocturnal emissions are a standard phenomenon, and a way for the body to alleviate itself of its sexual arousal. It is more often observed in people who find themselves sexually less energetic. If the person masturbates often or has sexual contact of any kind, they’ve a lesser probability of getting night fall.

It can even occur as a result of stress, watching explicit content like porn, anxiety, depression, and other health conditions.

Despite of being a completely secure and natural act of the body, there are numerous web sites demonizing it within the lines of other natural sexual acts.

Here is a write up on the National Health Portal of the Government of India:

“.”

This is followed by tons of solutions, each dietary, physiological, and pharmacological for the cure of nocturnal emissions. Please understand, it’s not a condition, it’s a natural & healthy phenomenon of the body.

Though, in case of any accompanying issue like gastritis, pain in testicles or burning sensation during semen discharge, you need to check together with your doctor.

Anyone prescribing you silly cures like:

  • fenugreek & honey water,
  • having onions,
  • eating more curd,
  • avoiding tea, coffee & alcohol,
  • bathing in essential oils,
  • taking warm water bath before bed,
  • having herbs like shilajit, ashwagandha, triphala;
  • drinking bottle gourd juice to chill the body;
  • drinking almond milk at night;

or other rubbish of such kind; or selling you some magical complement or herbal & ayurvedic concoction, is just making a idiot out of you.

Because of such nonsensical information, people (specially children), are scared to death and are full flawed ideas and misinformation. And out of this misunderstanding sprout flawed questions:

  1. What is the healthy frequency of night fall?

There isn’t any healthy or unhealthy frequency of night fall. It relies on how sexually energetic a person is. Of course, should you are watching sexually explicit content more often, then probabilities of erections as a result of wet dreams, and night fall, are more. But regardless of the frequency, it poses no harm to your health in any way.

2. Why do I feel weak after night fall, or semen discharge during masturbation?

Because with all of the flawed information, you’ve gotten been wrongly convinced of the negative effects of something which is totally normal and healthy. It’s totally a placebo effect, and understanding and studying about human sexuality, anatomy & physiology and functions of sexual organs; is the one solution to do away with such flawed notions & feelings.

3. Do wet dreams or night fall (and even masturbation), effect height?

There isn’t even remotest of the link to anything in human body with night fall, ignore height. Your height is predicated in your genes, and just a little on the nutrition you eat.

4. Does night fall reduce sperm count?

Semen discharge during night fall, masturbation or sex, don’t result in any reduction in sperm count, semen volume or testosterone levels. Your body (HPT axis) is well capable of manufacturing adequate sperm and semen, and it is a continuous process, controlled by the negative feedback system within the body.

5. Wet dreams can reduce my immunity?

No, it doesn’t and it cannot. If you’re affected by frequent cold and cough, it has nothing to do together with your semen or sperm. Regular exercise, good food regimen, stress & sleep management, good quality herbs & supplements etc. are among the things you should utilize to enhance your immunity.

6. Night fall happens only during puberty?

Night fall can occur at any age. Though the frequency of night fall is higher during puberty, as hormones are fluctuating rather a lot. If you’re and adult and never masturbating or engaged in sex, then erotic or wet dreams can result in erections and night fall.

7. What about my friend, who isn’t having night fall? Am I a victim?

Whether it’s a person or woman, night fall is a traditional phenomenon. You don’t have voluntary control over it, normally. The frequency of night fall differs from individual to individual. Some people may rarely or not have night fall in any respect. Some have it a couple of times in per week, and yet some could also be having an excellent higher frequency of night fall.

8. Frequent night falls can result in erection problems & shrink the penis?

Night fall has no link to erection problem or penis size, regardless of the frequency. If you’re having an erection issue, then you need to seek the advice of a specialist. Penis size is predicated in your genes, and you can’t increase your penis size with anything, except surgery.
