So, to allow you to reduce anxiety,
start by taking a moment to calm down your body..
soften any unnecessary tension in your belly and shoulder,
and discover a posture that feels each relaxed and alert,
Now close your eyes
or look downwards
and rest your hands
in a simple effortless way.
Take a couple of moments
to scan your awareness
through the sensations of your body,
and wherever possible,
soften and release
obvious areas of physical tension.
Aware of your body,
your body respiration,
your chest rising and falling with each breath.
And now imagine standing on the street
outside of your home with two heavy suitcases
and know that one among those suitcases
is stuffed with worries in regards to the future,
and the opposite suitcase,
know that it is stuffed with regrets in regards to the past.
Take a moment standing there on the street
holding these two heavy suitcases
and reflect about each.
Reflect in regards to the future,
how it can come on it’s own accord each time it comes
and that almost all of what we worry about won’t ever occur.
Standing on the market on the street,
reflect in regards to the past,
the opposite heavy suitcase.
Consider how the past can’t be modified.
All we will do in the current is to learn from it,
put in whatever corrections make sense,
grow to be more skillful,
grow to be a greater person,
and move on.
