Lisa George showed off her incredible weight loss on Wednesday as she headed out and about in London after announcing she is the latest star to quit Coronation Street.

The soap star, 51, who previously told MailOnline that her weight loss came as a result of the menopause, looked amazing as she tucked a stylish white and red heart patterned shirt into a pair of eye catching trousers.

She added inches to her frame in a pair of towering red satin heels and accessorised with a large pendant necklace.

Lisa, who has played Beth Tinker on Corrie for 13 years since she first joined back in 2011, looked in good spirits after confirming the news on This Morning earlier in the day.

The actress said it is time to kiss goodbye to the cobbles as she turns her attention to new endeavours and will begin rehearsals for an upcoming pantomime production this autumn.

Speaking on the ITV daytime show, Lisa admitted it feels ‘strange’ to be leaving the soap and that Friday will be her last scenes.

She told hosts Craig Doyle and Sian Welby: ‘Its just strange. I don’t think its sunken in yet. I don’t think it will until I am not on screen anymore.

‘Friday will be my last scenes and you know I think it will start to sink in then.’

Reflecting on her 13 years at Corrie the star said: ‘You know what it’s just gone so quickly. It’s like “Was that really 13 years ago?” That’s incredible.

‘It just flies by because you are in a different world, you are in the Weatherfield bubble.’

Speaking about how life changing the role has been, she described the experience as ‘surreal’ as she said the strangest thing is being noticed when out and about.

‘I still walk around not realising people recognise me. Like even this morning at the train station in Starbucks’.

Beth arrived on the cobbles with her son Craig (Colson Smith), and looking back on her first scene she gushed: ‘Oh look at Colson he has changed so much actually. I mean I don’t think he spoke the first few years and now look at him.’

Lisa is starring at Fairy Godmother in the Cinderella pantomime at the Wyvern Theatre in Swindon later this year.

On leaving the soap she added: ‘Yeah a bit scary. Let’s see. I am doing panto at Christmas. It is fairy godmother so I can’t wait to do that again’.

Beth originally came into the soap as a love interest for Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson), but soon formed a romance with Kirk Sutherland (Andy Whymet).

Her family soon became engrained in Weatherfield, with her son Craig becoming a police officer, and her niece Sinead tragically dying of cancer.

Meanwhile Lisa recently showcased her dramatic weight loss on social media as she looked worlds away from her Corrie character.

Beth is known for wearing leopard print outfits or denim jackets and often sports a blonde up-do with pigtails, but Lisa opted for a smart white jacket and pink miniskirt away from the set.

While showcasing her now-tiny waist and slender legs, she captioned the snap: ‘Pink and cream should be seen’

In a second selfie, the actress wrote: ‘Twiggy style in pin’, a nod to the fashion icon who was named so because of her stick thin figure.

Earlier this year, Lisa told MailOnline that her weight loss came as a result of the menopause and she was ‘loving’ her new weight.

She said: ‘I’ve been through the menopause, am using a sensor so I can check my sugar levels and keep my diabetes under control and I’ve had a complete overhaul of my diet.

‘I’ve always eaten really healthily but with everything going on with my eyes and my Diabetes I went to see a nutritionist.

‘I cut out so much from my diet and am a stone lighter than I was last year. I’m loving the weight I’m at now. I went out on Friday and wore a velvet suit that was a size 10. I have not been in a size 10 since I was 28!’
