Whoopi Goldberg has warned people to ‘leave Kelly Clarkson alone’ after she finally confessed to using a weight-loss drug.
Kelly, 42, has received major backlash since she admitted on her own talk show during an interview with The View host that she was prescribed weight-loss medication by her doctor, after previously insisting her dramatic transformation was the results of ‘walking’ more and cutting back on carbs.
During Wednesday’s episode of The View, Whoopi, 68, was keen to debate the negative response to Kelly’s admission and claimed people would ‘kick her behind’ no matter what she said and likewise argued that ‘some people need their bodies jump-started.’
As the remainder of the panel, including Sunny Hostin, joined in with defending mother-of-two Kelly, comedian Joy Behar claimed that ‘diets don’t work’ and even insisted: ‘Nobody desires to be fat, except a sumo wrestler.’

Kelly, 42, opened up about using a weight reduction drug during an interview with Whoopi on the singer’s talk show on Monday
Sister Act star Whoopi said: ‘So, Kelly is getting backlash over this from individuals who say she previously claimed she was reducing weight by walking, but here’s some extent about that: loads of persons are taking the shot because they need it.
‘Some people need their bodies jump-started, some have diabetes, there’s plenty of reasons. She has been walking, but this has helped and I do not know why, because they kick her behind when she’s larger, they kick her behind when she’s lost the load and now they’re kicking her behind because she said it out loud.’
Referring to their conversation on Monday, where Whoopi opened as much as Kelly about her own weight reduction journey, the mother-of-one suggested: ‘Maybe she was more comfortable hearing anyone say, “That’s what I did.”‘
Her cohost, Sara Haines, chimed in and said: ‘I actually have no shade for Kelly Clarkson. I commend anyone that’s in a position to have access to those drugs, these injectables, that help them along the way in which.
‘There are those that need to do that, I like that. But I do think being transparent – and I’m not saying this about Kelly – there’s been a wave of those that have taken these they usually tell someone by omission, “Oh I’m just walking or I’m fasting or I’m doing this.”
‘The problem there’s you change into an element of the issue that led us here since you’re standing in front of somebody that feels all those feelings you had whenever you couldn’t figure it out and feels they’re failing and also you’re saying, “It worked for me, I do not know what’s incorrect with you,” and you actually need to be open about it should you’re doing it,’ Sara, 46, added.
Joy, 81, then said: ‘Everybody knows at this point that diets don’t work, diets don’t work. I’ve been on diets, up and down, up and down, and also you lose it you then gain it back.’
The comedian then argued: ‘Nobody desires to be fat, except a sumo wrestler. It’s uncomfortable, your clothes don’t fit, everybody desires to shed weight.’

Alyssa Farah Griffin was keen to have her say and said: ‘There’s also a giant difference between anyone who’s prescribed it by a physician because they need it. We have an obesity epidemic, they absolutely should take it.
‘By the way in which, for somebody like Kelly, it’s to get back to the load she ought to be if not for these struggles she’s been battling.
‘It’s very different – and that is where I agree with Sara – a few of these celebrities and influencers we see, who began as a size 4 to get to a size 0, and it just feeds this body toxicity. I’m a victim of scrolling, “Why cannot I seem like that? Why cannot I seem like that?.” That’s where it becomes toxic,’ the 34-year-old added.
Sunny, 55, who recently admitted to using weight-loss drug Mounjaro to shed the kilos, said: ‘After 50, it’s really difficult to shed weight and so if persons are doing this to make themselves feel higher, I’m all for it because I feel that the physical is connected to the mental, right?
‘So, should you be ok with yourself, then mentally you are going to also feel higher and there is an epidemic of depression on this country, an epidemic of shaming, women shaming women, men shaming men, all of it has to stop.
‘I do not think the non-public health decisions that you simply make for yourself ought to be subject to discussion,’ the mother-of-two argued as Whoopi said a part of the issue is that ‘this generation shares every thing.’

‘You have people like myself, who it’s like, “When I’m able to inform you, I’ll inform you, when I’m comfortable I’ll let you realize.” Because there are issues with thyroids, people have all types of issues.
‘We should let people do what they should do to get to where they should get to and stop being mad that they don’t seem to be doing it your way, because it is not like we actually know what you are doing.
‘We do not know what your personal life is, similar to you do not actually know what our personal lives are. So let’s all just say, “Good on you, should you’re doing something that is good for you and keeping you healthy, no person is mad at you,”‘ Whoopi added as Alyssa blurted out: ‘And leave Kelly Clarkson alone!’ which Whoopi then repeated.
During her interview with the Ghost actor on Monday, Kelly insisted that she didn’t use Ozempic, but didn’t reveal which drug she had used as an alternative.
‘Mine is a unique one than people assume, but I ended up having to do this too,’ the A Moment Like This songstress told the EGOT winner.
‘Everybody thinks it’s Ozempic, it is not – it’s something else.’
She reportedly lost 60 kilos, in line with Extra TValthough Kelly has not revealed the precise amount herself.
