Coleman weighed in for the meet at 209.5 kilograms (462 kilos). He wore a squat suit and knee wraps for the lift. He positioned the barbell on his shoulders and removed it from the squat rack. He stepped back to take his position with the load, using a moderate foot stance.
Upon the judge’s command, Coleman lowered into the opening and immediately rose with the load, yelling through the ascent, which took roughly three seconds. The official gave the rack command once Coleman returned to the standing position. The lift was approved, and the gang cheered for Coleman’s efforts.
Aside from winning the Division II state superheavyweight championship, Coleman was bestowed the Outstanding Lifter award.
